Building a fairer, more human future for games
Humans in Games is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting the people behind games. We believe the industry works best when education is accessible, working conditions are humane, and opportunities are built around people, not algorithms.
Below you can see our 3 phase plan.
Phase One — Accessible Education & Advocacy
Our first step is knowledge.
In Phase One, we focus on:
Delivering high-quality education at genuinely affordable prices, so learning game development isn’t locked behind privilege or debt.
Working with industry professionals to share real, practical insight.
Industry talks, panels, and workshops focused on sustainable careers, ethical development, and healthy work cultures.
Advocating for better working conditions across the games industry, including fair treatment, sustainable workloads, and respect for every discipline.
This phase lays the foundation: empowering people with skills, confidence, and a voice.
Phase Two — The Job Board (Free for Everyone)
Phase Two introduces the Humans in Games Job Board.
The job board will be free for everyone — no paywalls, no premium listings, no hidden advantages.
Studios and employers can post roles openly.
Developers, artists, writers, QA, and creators of all kinds can apply.
For Members:
Members receive something extra, a human touch.
We take the time to:
Review member profiles personally.
Understand their skills, goals, and values.
Actively match them with employers who are a good fit.
This isn’t about keywords or algorithms. It’s about people helping people find the right place to work.
Phase Three — Events, Job Fairs & Games Showcase
Phase Three is about bringing people together. Celebrating creativity, creating opportunity, and strengthening community through shared experiences.
This phase includes:
Human-centered job fairs (online and in-person) where developers and employers meet directly, without automated filtering or complicated hiring practices.
Games showcases that spotlight projects from individuals and small teams, with no pay-to-enter fees, no algorithmic favoritism, and no publisher-first gatekeeping.
Mentorship circles and peer-to-peer spaces that encourage collaboration, feedback, and long-term growth.
Our showcases exist to celebrate work, not to extract value from it, giving creators a platform to be seen, heard, and respected.
Why This Matters
The games industry is full of talent, passion, and creativity, but also barriers, burnout, and exclusion. Humans in Games exists to push back against that, one human-centered step at a time.
