Donating knowledge

  • Donating knowledge means contributing educational or informational content—such as courses, workshops, videos, talks, written guides, mentorship, or other learning resources—to support Humans in Games’ mission.

  • Anyone with relevant experience or expertise may contribute, including individuals, educators, professionals, studios, and organizations from anywhere in the world.

  • Contributions may include, but are not limited to:

    • Online or in-person courses and workshops

    • Recorded or live talks and presentations

    • Video tutorials or lecture series

    • Written resources, guides, or articles

    • Mentorship sessions or office hours

    • Panels, interviews, or community discussions

    All contributions are subject to review for relevance and quality.

  • Yes. All knowledge contributions are reviewed to ensure they align with Humans in Games’ values, quality standards, and community guidelines before being shared or published.

  • We accept educational content in multiple formats:

    • Short-form videos (30 minutes to 1 hour)

    • Comprehensive multi-chapter courses with multiple videos and sections

    • Written tutorials, guides, and educational articles

    This can be a brand new course you create specifically for us, or an existing course you made years ago that you're happy to donate exclusively to our community.

  • Unless otherwise agreed in writing, contributors retain ownership of their original content. By donating knowledge, contributors typically grant Humans in Games a non-exclusive right to use, share, display, or distribute the material for nonprofit and educational purposes.

  • Yes. Usage terms, licensing, attribution, and duration of use can be discussed and agreed upon in advance, depending on the type of contribution.

  • Your course becomes part of our educational library, accessible exclusively to Entry Pass members (£30/year). It helps developers at all career stages learn new skills, advance their craft, and grow professionally, while keeping education affordable and accessible.

  • Absolutely. We'd be honored to recognize your course as a tribute to someone who has impacted your career or the games industry. Let us know during submission how you'd like them acknowledged.

  • Once you submit your course, our team reviews it and adds it exclusively to our library for Entry Pass members. You retain full credit as the creator while making your knowledge accessible to those building their careers in games. We'll work with you on formatting, hosting, and any technical requirements.

  • Yes. Contributors are normally credited by name or organization, unless they request to remain anonymous.

  • In most countries, donating services or intellectual contributions (such as time, expertise, or content) is not tax-deductible. Tax treatment varies by jurisdiction, and contributors should consult local tax guidance or a tax professional.

  • Unless explicitly agreed otherwise, donated knowledge is provided on a voluntary basis and is not sold for personal profit. In some cases, content may be used in fundraising or sponsored contexts to support the organization’s mission, with terms clearly agreed in advance.
